Apartment Review for Camden Sierra - Chula Vista, CA

When I first moved in, they failed to show up for my move in inspection. When I moved out, they failed to show up for TWO consecutive appointments for the inspections after I took off from work to be there. No phone call, no notice...just a no show. When I moved out, the day I moved out, the office was closed, I had an appointment for that too and had to leave immediately under orders that day. The office is always closed and there is never any staff around to resolve issues. And after I was quoted one price (finally), they turned around and turned me into collections for an additional $400 dollars, without notifying me. That is being taken up with my legal department right now, as I have the signed quote and statement for $138 dollars, which covers the carpet and cleaning. God knows what the 400 dollars was for, I only lived there 6 months and was gone most of the time. Maintanence can take up to 3 weeks to get taken of, as there is not enough staff on hand to take care of it. Everyone on their emergency maintanence line was completely rude every time I called to put in a trouble call. Parking is ridiculous. Their stupid security had handed out tickets TO RESIDENTS for stupid shit, like having dealer tags on a brand new car, and then threatened to tow them. That was several residents. Mind you, we pay $50 bucks for a stupid sticker so that doesn't happen.

There are constantly fights and "gang bangers" running wild in the parking lot at all hours of the night. On more than one occasion, I had to sit up at night with my daughter and listen to racial slurs being slung across the parking lot. Security took up to two hours to respond.

They hire illegals to do the cleaning and landscaping work. There are illegals living in the complex. The cleaning staff and landscapers are constantly digging around in the trash, so make sure if you do live there, you SHRED everything.

Anyone that says a military member under orders needs to "wait a few days until we can get more staff to do a thorough inspection" needs to get a clue. When the military says go, we go.

I wouldn't recommend Camden to anyone, not even my worst enemy. The outside looks nice and the inside is ok too, but its not worth the bullshit you have to put up with. They are also, very obviously, military unfriendly.
